I found that if you turn back the cuff and button it “backwards” you end up with a version of a French cuff. So simple and when you push up your sleeves, you look thinner and more friendly. It all has something to do with showing some of your arm and This works on any garment that has a button cuff. ✨I have on my Paige white jeans, a new J McLaughlin blouse and truly ancient Gabor sandals.✨ . . . #styletips #fashiontips #calcasjeans #styleinspiration #styletipsf How To Shorten Sleeves That Are Too Long, How To Shorten Sleeves, Shorten Sleeves, French Cuff, J Mclaughlin, Straight Line, Shortening, Straight Lines, Diy Clothes

This is my fave little workaround for adding a tie-up option to my puffy sleeves finished with bias binding. I love this option because it leaves the sleeve open and adjustable to the arm of the wearer. It’s on the inside of the sleeve but it means I don’t have to make a placket so 🤷‍♀️ Steps: I start with a rectangle of fabric. The wider the puffier. This one is the width of the fabric which is 55 inches. Then the depth is going to be 2x how far you want your sleeve to extend (do some folding and mocking up?) Fold in half short sides together. Cut a curve into the top of the sleeve. The short ends will be at the underneath of the sleeve. If they’re longer the sleeve will hang underneath more. The main thing is: have fun playing around with it!
