#4 Baby Oedipus ended up being adopted by the King and Queen of Corinth. As a young man, Oedipus hears the fateful prophecy and leaves Corinth believing that his "parents" will be safe. On his journey to Thebes, he confronts an old man in a carriage and kills him. The old man turns out to be his real father. He arrives to Thebes and the city is in utter chaos. A sphinx has taken over the kingdom but Oedipus is able to defeat her by answering her riddle.
