Build classroom community with your grade 4 5 6 7 students using this social emotional anti bullying activity that will empower students to identify what hurts their feelings and have students see that words hurt the most. This activity will create a kinder, thoughtful classroom environment.

Teach students to tolerate others by helping them think beyond what they see on the outside. For example, I share a story about how I overcame my feelings, and actions, connected with road rage. I tell them that I decided that maybe those drivers in such a big hurry really did have an emergency - maybe someone they love is hurt and they need to get to the hospital. When I think that way, I feel more like just getting out of the way and letting them get around me instead of getting angry.
