As she let slip from the quay at Portsmouth, few would realise that the HMS York was once the fastest destroyer in the Royal Navy, with a proud service record, having assisted in the invasion in Iraq, patrolling the waters of the south Atlantic and rescuing British citizens trapped in The Lebanon in 2006.

Herbert Road, Woolwich, London, SE18 | I had a bit of diffic… | Flickr Attic Windows, Southeast London, Historical Pics, Block Of Flats, London History, God's Own Country, Tyne And Wear, Old Street, Newcastle Upon Tyne

I had a bit of difficulty locating this one. The two ornate houses and all the ones in the foreground right have been replaced by the block of flats. Beyond the ornate houses, the five houses with the attic windows still exist but the roofs have been rebuilt. There's still a garage just out of shot today. This part of Herbert Road has changed quite a bit in the last 100 years or so.
