Bruce Lee

The curse of the Dragon).
In the year of Dragon, and at the hour of the Dragon, between 5 and 8 am, born at Jackson Street San Francisco, on November 27, 1940. His father, Lee Hoi Chuen, was touring with a piece of China Cantonese Opera in the Americas, hence Bruce was born in San Francisco. Grace Ho, mother of Bruce, Sino-German descent [citation needed], put his boy named Lee Jun Fan, which means Protector of San Francisco, but during the first month was called the Little Phoenix, which in Chinese is a feminine name. Thereby intended to confuse evil spirits who steal from the first male after dark. Mary Glover was the nurse who gave it its English name, Bruce, whose existence he did not know until twelve years later when entering a Catholic school, La Salle in Hong Kong. His mother was Catholic. His first movie appearance, according to Bruce, was two months old and six also participated in Tears of San Francisco (San Francisco Tears) [citation needed]. In 1946, when Bruce had only 6 years was introduced in the film industry in Hong Kong thanks to family friends. After a short trial the boy was accepted. The film is titled Birth of Mankind (The Birth of Mankind) and it was a cliffhanger that was fashionable then in Hong Kong. Bruce then rolled thirteen other films of the same court, in all of them figured his stage name, Li Shiu Loong, which means Little Dragon. The Kid is the only film in which he worked with his father, but curiously does not involve the two in any scenes together. During his childhood, or rather his teens, Bruce was a gang member, was engaged in fighting with other gangs, carrying guns, chains. But one day he asked what would happen if he had the support of the band and get into a fight, then decided to learn Wing Chun style of Kung Fu. Although his first contact with martial arts was the hand of his father, Lee Hoi Chuen, who taught him the basics of Tai Chi Chuan, for the sole purpose of diverting him from the path of violence. [Citation needed] Bruce knew a boy his age or slightly older, William Cheung, who was always in fights and never lost. One day Bruce asked why and he said it was because of his art. William proposed to him to learn Wing Chun and Bruce agreed. Bruce's behavior when he first entered the academy of Yip Man was not all that should have been respectful, especially for a boy East, so Yip Man decided that Bruce was not able to learn an art as Wing Chun, and so notified by William Cheung. Bruce decided to return the next day with humility and respect, and Yip Man gave him a chance. [Citation needed] Bruce was three to four years learning Wing Chun under the tutelage of Yip Man, though it was the hand of his pupil and learned Wong Shun Leung. Bruce was enrolled in the English school in San Francisco, at that time had interscholastic tournaments because they were English schools, where tournaments were held Western boxing. Bruce decided to take part in one of them, held in the college of St. George, and won using known techniques, Wing Chun. [Citation needed] Return to United States At eighteen he left Hong Kong to move to their country of birth, United States, and claim their nationality. Some versions say that Bruce's father was forced to make this
decision because he feared that his son eventually joined the Chinese mafia, Chinese Triad. Thus, Bruce embarked on 3 December 1958 on the freighter Daisy May, a 3rd class ticket and $ 100. [Citation needed] The first city he visited was San Francisco, the city of his birth and where he was to claim his nationality. His father, Lee Hoi Chuen, contacted some relatives to Bruce could stay a while and in return Bruce had to work. The work did not like, because it was washing dishes, so I quickly left and began teaching in order to survive. He later moved to another state, Washington, to Seattle, where she would work in the restaurant of an old family friend, Ruby Chow. There Bruce Lee had installed a sack and a wooden dummy to train if time permitted, but the neighbors complained about the noise it made while training and had to quit. Having no friends, he began attending meetings of a Chinese society, where there were people who also practiced Kung Fu and other styles of northern China, where the predominant use of the legs, use Bruce unknown since the Wing Chun leg work to a very low level. The company decided to give a demonstration and so Bruce could know that would be one of his best friends here in Seattle, Jesse Glover. Jesse had always been interested in martial arts (judo had), but when he saw Bruce felt he had to train with him. Bruce accepted the proposal to teach. The first place where they trained was the dining room of the apartment of Jesse Glover. At its first meeting Bruce asked Jesse to show him all he knew of Kung Fu. Jesse had never trained with a Kung Fu master, all the knowledge they had brought them out of a book by James Lee Yimm. Bruce asked him to show him the book and after spending some time leafing through him that the style shown Hung belonged to the family and that he had occasionally practiced in Hong Kong, it was a style known there. Later, Jesse had the opportunity to travel to California with a couple of friends. The main objective was to visit Jesse James Y. Lee. Once in Oakland, was the home of James and presented him that he knew from the book that James had written. He invited them to go and then began to show their knowledge. This visit would be decisive in the life of Bruce, it provided that Bruce Lee and James were known. Jun Fan Gung Fu Institute In Seattle, Bruce accepted a new student, it was Ed Hart, roommate Jesse Glover and this was the spark for Bruce to accept more and more students, so Jesse and Ed Bruce convinced that COBRASE by their classes. Soon they had to find a place, which soon outgrew them. By that time he met Taky Kimura, who became the first assistant instructor Bruce Jun Fan Gung Fu Institute, the name by which named his Kwoon. Joe Allan, a student of James Y. Lee, went to see Bruce. The year was 1962 and Bruce was studying philosophy at Seattle University. Bruce invited Joe to see some of the techniques of Wing Chun in the wooden mannequin was in the backyard Ruby Chow's restaurant. Joe Allan was impressed and thought it would happen to James Read as much if I saw it. After this, James called from Oakland to Bruce asking if he could pay a visit to teach some of his Kung Fu, accepted, seeing it as a good opportunity to spread his teachings. The next week went to Oakland, staying at the home of James.
There he had opportunity to meet with Wally Jay who could share knowledge and learn something about grappling techniques. James had his garage full of mechanisms to train invented by him. There were practicing and Bruce gave some suggestions on how to improve these devices. On a later trip Bruce met two other martial artists, which over time would be the most famous United States, Ralph Castro and Ed Parker, with whom he shared knowledge and those who earned the respect. This meeting was also vital in the life and future of Lee, it was Ed Parker who opened the doors to Hollywood. Bruce continued to travel repeatedly to Oakland to teach Wing Chun to James Lee, and even spent their holidays there training with James. The Seattle group kept growing and Tacky Kimura was taking more responsibility, not for nothing was the assistant instructor of Bruce Lee. Given the success, he thought about expanding the horizons of teaching and dreamed of a chain degimnasios scattered throughout the California area, so James proposed to be the head instructor of Jun Fan Gung Fu Institute in Oakland. James shared with his student, Al Novak, an academy called Hayward California, and thought about turning it into a Jun Fan Gung Fu Institute, convinced that his students share conversion plans. At that time James thought issue you a book to Bruce. When the tests were ready was called to go to Oakland to review and this time Bruce came accompanied by Taky Kimura. The three were training in the garage of James and Bruce was surprised that James was so well adapted to the movements of Chi Sao. Compensating actions Taky hard, James had developed his body thanks to bodybuilding, including Steve Reeves had trained with the famous Mr. Universe bodybuilder star in many movies like Hercules. James had always relied on force to be effective and cost adapt to new concepts of softness. The book was finally prepared shortly before Bruce returned to Hong Kong to visit his family and was entitled Chinese Gung Fu The Philosophical Art of Self Defense. Once in Hong Kong, Bruce took the opportunity to visit his teacher, Yip Man spent many hours drinking tea, which Yip Man Bruce informed on matters know, like art history, etc.. Bruce felt that Yip was too old to defend himself, but during this stay in Hong Kong realized it was still in shape despite his age, especially after practicing Chi Sao with him. There in the school of Yip Man also saw another of his companions, as William Cheung, who was on holiday because she lived in Australia for 18 years. Bruce spent five weeks in Hong Kong, after which he returned to Seattle to continue his teachings. Upon returning to Seattle he expected a recruitment letter and began to fear for their future if they had to go to the army. James asked for advice to avoid going into the army, although it seemed very difficult because people agile and strong demand is precisely what the Army. Bruce attended the medical examination at the recruitment center, and to his surprise was declared unfit for military service to have the arch very pronounced, a birth defect, had a testicle higher than the other-and nearsightedness .
Oakland
In Seattle, he met a girl named Linda Emery during the course of one of his classes, which had been invited by one of his friends and eventually married her. He thought that Seattle did not offer the possibilities that could give California and thought of moving there. This meant I had to ask Linda to marry him or forget it forever. Linda agreed, married and the same day left for Oakland. Bruce and Linda lived in the home of James Lee and his wife, Bruce had no money to rent an apartment, and put into operation until the gym was not able to keep his newfound family, which were financially dependent on James , I was happy to have them at home. They got a room whose rent was not excessive, to open his Kwoon, and prepared to fix it as soon as possible to start school. They soon came the first students. Shortly thereafter, he was detected with cancer Katherine, wife of James Lee, who would die later. Bruce tried to get James did not feel depressed, tried to encourage putting a hard training system that it can not be constantly thinking. Bruce Lee Style The style of Bruce Lee used to be around high kicks, opposite the actor Jackie Chan. However, Bruce came to declare that there are different fighting styles, but one style of fighting with the anatomy of the human body (two legs, two arms ...). However, Jackie Chan assert the existence of different fighting styles. Bruce Lee: The real challenges Lee received many challenges during his life but only accepted some of them. During his secondary education at Thomas Edison Technical School, a Japanese classmate Bruce Lee called "Yoichi" who was now a black belt in karate, he would bother with gestures and glances, and then challenging him openly in public wherever such conduct demonstrations of Kung Fu. To the best Taky Kimura has told in an interview conducted by Paul Bax (The Seattle Years: The Taky Kimura Interview) "Both went to the same school in Seattle. And if Bruce did a show it took such personnel (...) in exhibitions he stood up and openly challenged Bruce on stage. Finally the point where Bruce had to say that if he so would have to fix this situation. Of course, the karateka was ready and Bruce said "I'll tell you directly, you are challenging me, right?", The Japanese karate (later Yoichi Nakachi Sensei) responded "Yes, I am challenging." So they decided to go to a local handball field and enclosed there. When started, the karateka opened the match with a kick that Bruce blocked and then hit him with fists direct throughout the property. When you hit the wall and was falling, Bruce kicks him. It ended in eleven seconds. After that these would become a member of our class. I wanted to become a disciple of Bruce. To show what kind of guy was Bruce, he let him go to our class for a period, after which the karateka, not sure why, probably because the humiliation involved, did not reappear "(The Seattle Years : The Taky Kimura Interview). The story of this battle is also made by Jesse Glover, the first student of Bruce Lee, who acted as referee of this meeting, recounted in the book "Bruce Lee Between Wing Chun and Jeet Kune Do" in 1976, where, as recounted Glover, the karateka already on the ground after receiving the kick that disfigured his face asked him concerned about how much he had endured in combat and Ed Hart, his
partner also present and responsible for controlling the time, more pious, he doubled and said "22 seconds". In 1964, the 24-year-old Bruce Lee was officially challenged a challenge to the traditional Chinese community which, as recorded, did not agree with that Bruce taught Kung Fu to students who were not Chinese. According to official said his widow, Linda Lee Cadwell (documentary Bruce Lee: A Warrior's Journey) Chinese community challenged Lee to a fight whose outcome would decide whether Bruce could continue to teach foreigners. Then set a date for the bout (the date was December 1964) which would take place in the room where the little dragon gave his classes. Arrival date the Chinatown community brought a renowned exponent of Kung Fu in San Francisco at the time (then would be the great Chinese martial arts master Wong Jack Man) trained in Northern Shaolin style, which has a wider repertoire techniques of Wing Chun kicks that used by Bruce Lee. The wrestler representing the traditional Chinese community in San Francisco tried to put some rules to combat, as not to hit in the genitals or eyes, but Lee said the conditions he put them, who was challenged, and the combat develop without any rules. There are several versions of this game. According to Linda Lee, who relates in his book on the life of her husband (Bruce Lee: The man only I Knew) and according to what Bruce Lee himself said in a radio interview, the Chinese fighter after an exchange of blows, began to spin in a circle around the gym after which Bruce hits it, knocking it to the floor giving fist blows to the head, and holding it there with an immobilization technique asks three times, Cantonese-language " Is it enough? "to which he replies," is enough. " Other explanations say that the challenger began attacking and Lee responded with three straight cuffs, but clearly only the first hit on his jaw, he stood at a distance at which Bruce Lee could not reach their short shifts, blow by Bruce hit it on the left side of his jaw, that he reacted that was launched after fleeing enemy appeared. Bruce Lee follows him across the room, hitting him in the back and head (the result of this he tells in that radio interview that had swollen wrists, thus beginning to realize the limitations of Wing Chun) . He tried not to face him, turned to give back, but finally cornered him and he surrendered. Bruce later realized that the fight had lasted longer than I thought and I was exhausted, so we decided to improve their fitness for added strength. On the other hand decided to change the style to work better shock circular and have a wide range of fast movement. He also began to train their fists hard sand bags and stones. As I was making changes to the style began to disengage from the Kung Fu and call the new style Jun Fan Gung Fu (Kung Fu Bruce Lee) that three years later he rotulara as Jeet Kune Do, more modified yet.
During the filming of Operation Dragon (Enter The Dragon), the last film that Bruce Lee shot finished just weeks before his death, both Fred Weintraub (producer), Bob Wall (co-star) and Bolo Yeung (co-star) have publicly reported the continuing challenges to Bruce Lee behind the scenes by the extras hired for the film, many of whom were martial artists members of the Chinese Triads. Bruce was usually ignore them mostly but sometimes it was difficult. Bob Wall, co-starring in the film, tells a challenge that saw (The Curse of the Dragon, 1993) which Bruce Lee despite the loss of work time involving accepted: "The man presented with a bound and was much bigger than Bruce, and definitely want to hurt him, but Bruce started the fight and began to beat him, to make keys on your feet, keys in hand, playing with him. Bruce was not bad but it showed him who was boss. Chief Bruce was an excellent street fighter ... and then finished and said "go ahead, we will work" (...) in this struggle was documented with the extra "Bruce Lee literally swept the floor with him '" (The Curse of the Dragon, 1993). In a story that makes Bolo Yeung (co-starring in this film) in The Life of Bruce Lee that an actor during the filming of the film, while Bruce Lee teaches the choreography to his colleagues, he made offensive comments to this indirect behind the scenes making him understand that his fighting style was not real. At this Yeung told in Cantonese: "When we filmed the Dragon Double Li Siu Lung challenged (" Little Dragon "in Chinese) wanted to test the Jeet Kune Do and Bruce tells him agree, come, down, then" moved a bit until he got a kick out of Bruce Lee. That was enough. And it all ended ... very fast. '" The producer of the Dragon, Fred Weintraub, who was constantly with Bruce Lee during the filming also told in Bruce Lee, The Curse of the Dragon, 1993 on challenges that took place during the filming: "I was worried that someone will get hurt because there were challenges every day (...), they had a ritual where they are challenged and beat his hands crossed feet (...) but luckily the fight did not last long because Bruce pa, pa, pa! the knocking out and kept going. " You can also find other eyewitness accounts like Paul Heller, producer of the Dragon, who refers to Bruce Lee as someone "incredibly fast." (The Curse of the Dragon). In an interview with Bruce Lee between 1971 and 1973 by his disciple George Lee, [(KNOW IT IS NOT ENOUGH - Interview with Bruce Lee]) refers to a martial artist called "The Tai Chuen" who challenged Bruce Lee fight openly by the media. Film In February 1965, Linda had her first child, Brandon, and six days later, Lee Hoi Chuen, died in Hong Kong. Bruce left immediately for the funeral and on his return to Oakland received a call from Ed Parker to have a test in Hollywood. William Dozier executive producer of the television series Batman had seen a film in Super 8 show that Bruce had been in Long Beach at the invitation of Ed Parker. Dozier knew Bruce through the mediation of a mutual friend of he and Parker (Hollywood hairdresser who had worked for Sharon Tate, who was killed in the massacre allegedly led by Charles Manson). Dozier called Bruce, just a week later went to Hollywood and did the test. At first it was thought to make the son of Chinese detective Charlie Chan. Bruce signed a contract option and immediately started acting lessons. But hopes were dashed when Bruce got
the call informing him that the series Dozier was suspended. In February the following year Bruce received a call informing him that he had been selected for the role of "Kato" in a new television series The Green Hornet (The Green Hornet). After signing the contract packed his things and left with his family to Los Angeles. James is very sad, but Bruce promised to visit as often as I could to train with him and his students. In 1967, Bruce opened his third Jun Fan Gung Fu Institute, which was his last Kwoon. It was located in 628 College Street, in Chinatown in Los Angeles, and, contrary to what was in Seattle and Oakland, he had no identification mark, even to maintain the anonymity the windows were painted. Bruce did not need the gym to live, because, fortunately, he could of his appearances in television and film. So this way the people of Chinatown were carefully selected among talented martial artists and only allowed the passage to some artists and people related to show business that Bruce was known as Steve McQueen, James Coburn, Stirling Siliphant, even Kareem Abdul Jabbar. A Bruce did not like the classes loaded with people, he claimed that the classes were the closest thing to personal training, gave the example of a boxing coach could only train two or three at most if you want the answer above boxer in the ring. And so he rejected the offer to establish a chain of gyms with the name of Kato. An American producer offered her a role in the TV series Kung Fu but in spite of Lee, as he participated in the original idea of the series, eventually appointed David Carradine in the role, being discriminated against by their Chinese ancestry not well seen Americans in the forums. In 1971, while visiting Hong Kong producer Raymond Chow, Bruce Golden Harvestofreci participation in one of his film projects. At that time you decide to live in Hong Kong, and requests Taky Kimura (responsible for the Seattle School), James Lee (Head of the School of Oakland) and Dan Inosanto (responsible for the school at Los Angeles), which close their activities, and not spend more commercially teach what they had taught. The first film made at this stage in Hong Kong called The Big Boss (Kung Fu to death in Bangkok or The Big Boss) and was immediately a huge success in Hong Kong collecting benefits of millions of dollars. Bruce Lee won the heights of popularity China who was considered a national hero. Immediately participated in his second martial arts movie called "Fist of Fury" (Fist of Fury Fists of Fury or) which exploited the supposed superiority of Kung Fu on elKarate Japanese as a way to conjure the feeling of inferiority Chinese against the Japanese. Success in this movie exceeded all expectations and Bruce Lee became an established star of martial arts films. In 1972, actor, screenwriter, co-producer and director in the movie "Way of the Dragon" (Dragon's wrath or the Way of the Dragon) recorded in Rome with Chuck Norris, seven times world champion Tang Soo Do. The film was another box office success in the Chinese circuit, as Bruce did not want to leave him. This film is considered a classic of martial arts and fight in the Coliseum is one of the most memorable films of Bruce Lee, is known as the battle of the century. A curious fact the central theme of the soundtrack, he was responsible for playing the drums.
In the same year, in full fame, is technical editor of a book entirely devoted to Wing Chun, written by one of the three students who certified to teach Bruce Lee vision of martial arts, who had Chinese ancestry James Yim Lee. J. Lee learned his Wing Chun to Bruce Lee, and only in the book are pictures of people of Chinese origin, including Ip Man (which is appreciated), Ted Wong and Bruce Lee himself. However, a new offer from a producer coparticipativa U.S. and China to develop the film "Enter the Dragon" (the Dragon) was offered to Lee, who accepted with enthusiasm as codirector of the fight scenes and actor. In this movie Bruce Lee won a posthumous fame among the American public and is considered his masterpiece. It was completed in April 1973, four months before his death. The film was shown a couple of months later with an overwhelming box office success. In 1973, Lee worked on a film that would be incomplete. Only 40 minutes are rolled, called "Game of Death" (Game of Death) with his friends and disciples Dan Inosanto yKareem Abdul-Jabbar. Chronologically, this would be his last film due to his untimely and controversial death. The film was completed five years later by Golden Harvest, using double-and notorious-to coarse-assemblies, and adding 11 minutes of initial run. Death On July 20, 1973, Bruce Lee goes to the apartment of actress Betty Ting Pei China to keep an appointment with producer Raymond Chow, the aim was to discuss the continuation of the movie Game of Death, While in the apartment her friend and actress Betty Ting Pei, around 14 pm that day, Lee felt a profound and crippling headaches that made him lie down in bed and Betti, in the version that is considered official, gave him a painkiller I fell into a deep unconsciousness from which would never return, entering a coma. He was taken to unhospital, which entered lifeless. Currently there is still speculation about the causes of his death, since no one knows yet what it was. The chances are he could have died from a complication of a seizure, an effect only after 20 years of his death seems to have discovered medicine. Filkins, unmdico prestigious stated that the official explanation about the cause of Lee's death is wrong, as in allergic reactions to drugs are usually present evidence as irregular swelling in the neck or respiratory failure. Instead, Filkins thinks Lee died from a sudden unexpected death syndrome, derived from SUDEP epilepsy syndrome was not identified until 1995. Lee had almost 33 years and the doctors said his body (admirably formed) represented no more than 18-20 biological years. Recently it has been said as another cause attributable to his death was caused by an aneurysm that caused headaches and eventually led to death. His death shocked the public in Hong Kong and initially claimed to be false information. It was learned that before his death Lee had suffered previous fainting strangers who had recovered. The autopsy showed Lee that his brain had swollen massively compressed within the braincase. 20,000 people gathered at the front of the funeral establishment of Kowloon where his bronze coffin open at the top, which had cost $ 40,000. The funeral that followed was tremendous in Hong Kong, the crowd of fans was so impressive that the environment where it was Lee's coffin was suffocating. In the transfer of the Hong Kong Funeral box
to Seattle, where he was finally buried, had to change the funeral box, because with lahumedad or condensation, the white lining that the box was wrapped in blue stained due to the suit Bruce. He was buried in Lake View on Capitol Hill, Seattle, USA. States. He and his wife Linda Emery, now known as Linda Lee Cadwell, two sons, Brandon Lee and Shannon Lee. The latter died in the very beginning of his career during an accident filming the movie The Crow (The Crow). Training Bruce Lee wrote in his schedule workouts each day to compare results and continuous improvement. He trained daily for 8 hours, their activities were: decalistenia exercises, running about 16 miles daily and perfection of a particular stroke or technique. Always wanted to be stronger and more elastic, had a height of 1.71 meters (5 '7 ") and weighed 61.1 kg. At a crucial moment of his life, seriously injured his back, a sacrum, so he had to undergo a tedious rehabilitation process and remain idle long, about six months, which he dedicated to study and compose notes to be edited after his death as "The Tao of Jeet Kune Do". Although for some reason, despite then having the means to do so, in life he never published. And although the doctor said that might not walk again, not only walked again but his kicks were again obtained before and continued his arduous training in search of perfection in the art of combat. The hard training allowed him to make no tricks, and incredible physical feats proverbial, among which are: to make a large number of pushups on two fingers of your hand, shoot down fighters twice his weight with his side kick, developing a power of shot at close range (the punch of an inch), make a quick and flawless flying kick, a tremendous instantaneous velocity of punches (30 hundredths of a second) due to which their sparring just did not see the blow that they toppled, and a skill in weapons such as nunchaku, Bo (long stick) and the Philippine art of two sticks, Kali. As he said: "I do not represent a style but all styles. You do not know what I'm about to do, but I do not know either. My movement is the result of your and my technique is the result of your technique. " Lee also adopted some schemes fencing, wrestling and boxing in style, although he did not want to pigeonhole and call it style, but said that there was not had to exist a predefined style to fight. Lee also developing techniques for grip, locks the neck and took boxing movements based on films of Cassius Clay. The perfection of technique and balance, solvency and coordination, the breathtaking speed of his feints, his remarkable physical and bodily control has had rivals who exceed their performance from 1960 to date aesthetic. His images, charisma and influence in the martial arts have become a classic. In life he had a great movie stars and his followers and his students during their stay in the U.S., including: James Coburn, Steve McQueen, Dan Inosanto, who were also his friends.
Legacy Without doubt, one of his most important legacies is the opening to the West of Chinese martial arts and Kung Fu disclosure of its true dimension, which before him were unknown and only prevalent in fantasy movies with stunts produced, with the Karate and Judo as unique oriental techniques known in the West. China's film industry exploded endlessly unsatisfied commercial sale of Western and Eastern audiences eager to see films of the genre and style encountered in the famous films of Raymond Chow, Bruce Lee where he performed. After his death, put China's industry as a martial artist that was physically similar to Lee and his technique for making films of dubious quality and technical expression guionstica to overwork your figure the film market, it was even put on masks of Lee size on the face of the actor. Magazines dedicated to martial arts also fell in the overexploitation of the figure of Lee, revealing their techniques, training, personal life, hitting, thoughts, etc.. His ideas, philosophy and way of training are reviewed and applied in many modern martial arts academies worldwide. Today can be found in many martial arts academies his portrait or posters of him. In the interview to Pierre Berton, Lee said [citation needed]: For me, the ultimate martial arts means honestly expressing yourself. Now, that's very hard to do. Maxwell Pollard, in an article written for the Black Belt, transcribe a statement from Lee about his training [citation needed]: I owe my present state of development prior to my training in Wing Chun style ( ), a great style. This art was taught to me by Mr. Ip Man, the current leader of the Ving Tsun System in Hong Kong, where I was raised. Arguably, Lee, for his popularity, was responsible for the international spread of Wing Chun ( ), which, along with Tai Chi Chuan, is the style of Kung Fu practiced in the world. Many current practitioners of the martial arts ever at least make a comparative revisionism his fighting technique and Lee, so applying some of its concepts to your own style. Before Lee, there were only fantasy movies about kung fu and other martial arts, after Lee, the film follows the trail left by this unique martial artist. His eldest son Brandon Lee tried to follow the footsteps of his father participating in martial Western films, but one of them, called "The Crow" (1994), had an accident and died for negligence of others, to being shot in a scene . Survived by his wife Linda Emery Lee Cadwell and daughter Shannon Lee Emery, who has participated in several films, including one with the artist Jason Scott Lee, Dragon, the true story of Bruce Lee where it appears in a cameo as a singer, also practices martial arts and promotes Bruce Lee Foundation. No doubt many will make a fashion martial artists in the film, but Bruce Lee and his legacy will remain forever in wide range of martial arts as a timeless landmark.
