Resumen
Abstract
The feline immunodeficiency virus (FIV) belongs to the family Retroviridae of the genus
lentivirus, tends to be the nervous system and immunosuppress all the activities of the
client's defense, remaining at the disposal of any opportunistic disease, inducing a series of
signs and symptoms such as: Gingivitis, anorexia, fever, seizures, lethargy, ataxia. The
virus enters the brain through blood circulation,
lymphocytes found, monocytes of the white line and some other cells; Glía, dendritic,
astrocytes of the central nervous system that are infected. The most common opportunistic
pathogens in the oral cavity: Staphylococci, Harticutes, Bacteroidetes, Spirochetes,
Fibobacteria, Verrucomicrobia and Conjunctival are: Staphylococcaceae, Gemella,
Streptococcus, Porphyromonas, Flavobacteria, Sphingobacteria, Actinobacteria,
Fusobios as treatment has been suggested use of broad antibiotics spectrum for the
management of opportunistic pathogens and intranasal insulin to greatly reduce the nervous
signs that may present to the patient.
