Wheel of Fortune contestant hilariously bungles word puzzle by inserting 'sausage' where it doesn't belong

"I’m sure I’m going to have sausages in my locker and police car when I get back," the contestant said in a post-mishap analysis.

One Wheel of Fortune contestant's judgment was, admittedly, totally fried during a hilariously bungled answer on a recent episode of the long-running game show.

The new Ryan Seacrest-hosted edition of the series welcomed police officer Will Jordan to the set to solve a word puzzle that had, for the most part, mostly been filled in by the time the Connecticut resident tried to predict the full phrase — but, that didn't stop him from ignoring some of the letters that had already been revealed.

"Okay, Will, let's hear it!" Seacrest prompted, with the first word of the puzzle confirmed to end in an "E," and the final word already having an "A" in the first position on the board — and no "G" in sight.

"Treat yourself a round of sausage" Jordan replied — and he was very, very wrong, as it was eventually revealed that the phrase he was looking for was, "Give yourself a round of applause."

In a post-game wrap-up shared to the show's TikTok page, Jordan answered for his hilarious crimes against the English language.

"I tell you, when the lights are on and [you see] the stars, Ryan Seacrest, Vanna White, I just went blank. If your dad in retirement is watching this show maybe cracks a beer and gets a laugh, it was worth it," he said. "I’m sure I’m going to have sausages in my locker and police car when I get back, so, we’ll try to have some fun with it."

Seacrest then stepped in to provide Jordan with an autograph to take back home to his family.

Comments on the video playfully ribbed Jordan, with one urging, "Give this man a round of applause," while another wrote, "I've been spelling sausage wrong the whole time."
