• i hate the part of depression that’s like all the things that bring me joy are empty and i can’t do anything. like come on bitch i know you love book can you just be happy about book :/

  • what i like about airports is that once youre in there theres no going back. I mean youre there until they let you out

  • im no longer responsible for myself. I am free because i am contained. oooh eighteen dollar sandwich dont mind if i do

  • one time my delay was so bad that i went home and took a nap and it felt like the most illegal thing in the world even though nobody stopped or even questioned me

  • "the best way to screw jkr over is by making her characters queer!" actually. The best way to screw jkr over is to stop engaging with the property she still profits off of and read a different fucking book

  • A Texas judge last month ordered Dr. Margaret Carpenter, who practices north of New York City, to pay the penalty for allegedly breaking that state’s law by prescribing abortion medication via telemedicine. The Texas attorney general’s office followed up last week by asking a New York court to enforce the default civil judgment, which is $113,000 with attorney and filing fees.

The acting Ulster County clerk refused.

“In accordance with the New York State Shield Law, I have refused this filing and will refuse any similar filings that may come to our office. Since this decision is likely to result in further litigation, I must refrain from discussing specific details about the situation,” Acting Clerk Taylor Bruck said in a prepared statement.

This is what we're talking about. This is the resistance someone can do in their everyday job. Judgement gets passed down and you're just supposed to dot the i's and cross the t's? Don't. Just refuse.

Now, I know an acting county clerk isn't just anyone - this man had a very unique opportunity to do some very serious blockading in his everyday job - but that's kind of the point! Nobody's just anyone. You never know when you'll have an opportunity.

  • Oh, and by the way, that Supreme Court ruling is where that Harry Potter money goes.

  • This isn't even a slight exaggeration. JKR has openly given at least £70,000 to For Women Scotland to campaign against trans rights and fund this exact supreme court ruling. x x

Her anti-trans Crisis Centre in Edinburgh has the director of For Women Scotland on the Board of Directors. x

We can presume she's given more (financial) support off the record or in other ways.

Rowling consistently makes passive income on all Harry Potter products. Multiple sources have cited that Rowling earns anywhere between $50 million to a $100 million each year from royalties. Forbes estimated she earned $95 million in 2017 alone. x x x

It is a well-known fact that she earns net profit percentages on all her IP. Every time you buy any HP merch, from anywhere, she gets a cut. Every time you watch one of her films, even streaming or just on the tv, she gets a cut. Every time you visit Universal Studios or Harry Potter World, she gets a cut.

And she uses that money to do this. To strip trans rights at every opportunity.

This is where that Harry Potter money goes.

  • We're curing HIV.

I ... I don't have words for how much that hits me like a blow to the sternum, every single time.

    Every single time.

I never thought we'd be here, but here we are.

  • i hope ronald reagan is doing fucking backflips in his grave knowing that despite the hell on earth he put queer people through, we are still here, we are alive and thriving, and we are FINALLY curing the disease he allowed to kill millions of americans

  • a skinny white person with short blonde hair sobs and mouths "thank you" before looking upward and wiping away tearsALT
  • Don't speak too soon, there's a good chance it's either going to get killed off or made horribly expensive.

  • Sometimes... you can just be quiet when people are happy. Did you know that?

  • I am aware, but I'd rather build my happiness on top of the entire instead of just the beginning of a story.

  • This is not "the beginning of a story". This is a continuation of a story that has been going on for over 40 years, with the constant work, fundraising, and advocacy of thousands upon thousands of people. That you can't see that is sad for you, but I'm under no compulsion to continue to humor you shitting on that continuum of work.

You are a fucking tar pit.

  • We here at Sylph Co. are proud to announce the opening of an official tumblr account. By manufacturing and distributing Pokéballs and Trainer Acessories, we're not just selling supplies, we're selling connections between people and pokémon

  • I keep coming back to this, it’s such an incredible meta-commentary on capitalism and digital control.

Someone made a Tumblr account pretending to be the Pokeball monopoly in a fictional universe, and people made a “KUNG POW PENIS” string using the in-universe letter-shaped pokemon, followed by a pokemon (zorua) making a slamming blast towards the camera, completing the spell or whatever.

They’re mirroring the real-life “silence capitalist” attitude, against a real account pretending to be a fake corporation, using symbols from the fake corporation’s world. They’re pretending like this attitude exists in-universe. This attitude in part exists due to real-life corporations increasingly encroaching into social life and injecting their presence on social media, like this fictional corporation is doing. It works as a good joke!

The real-life Pokemon company, presumably, issues a takedown, or the corporation of Tumblr does so voluntarily on their behalf, taking down the fictional KUNG POW PENIS on a copyright claim.

In doing so, they’re protecting real corporate interests, against a bunch of people fake-insulting a fake corporation. The result looks exactly like the same pro-corporate control over media exists in-universe, as if the fictional company had issued a harassment or defamation takedown instead. In doing so, Tumblr advanced the joke even further by showing why the anti-corporate attitude would exist in a supposed Pokemon utopia.

  • Is that what it was? I saw "connections between humans and Pokemon" and assumed it was all porn
