The Mughal Empire was located in the Indian subcontinent, being established and ruled by the Timurid dynasty (with Turco-Mongol Chagatai roots from C. Asia and significant Indian Rajput and Persian ancestry through marriage alliances). Indo-Persian culturally, all its emperors were Muslim. In 17th century, Mughal India became the worlds largest economic and manufacturing power (especially textiles).
