I know it's cheesy, but this has made our transition to writing sentences almost flawless. They KNOW what a sentence needs.   I made this anchor chart to go with it and taught them the song as we learned about each of our 5 big goals for writing. You may have different goals, but these are the ones I like. Especially going back to check! After we write a word we chant "go back and check!"  Each part of the song has a very easy movement, and my kids know that fist explosion means punctuation 😂 It's so funny to be teaching, and say, "Hm, am I done?" And hear them yell,"No!
