I wanted to keep this simple, bold and bright, with a limited colour palette so that I can create a mini series of veggie reductions prints that can be hung together…. ~ I love visiting other people’s allotments and gardens where they have space to grow veg, although for now I have had to completely give up growing it myself. It’s one of those things I guess I will save for when I do have the space and time, and can look forward to it until then. I was so excited when I pulled up the gel plate and then that happened.
But hey, in gel printing you have to be ok with taking some risks 😂
Good thing the Gelli Arts gel printing plate is made to release paint. And if it doesn’t come off the first time then it will come off the next. And here’s the benefit of having your gel plate on a clear acrylic block. You can see exactly where you print! So I added a little bit of matte medium, placed the plate back in position and waited for everything to dry.
The not so perfect parts were easily fixed with a black pen and a little bit of paint.

But why did it happen??
My theory is this:

The last two/three days I have been working in circles…no flow happening. 😔 I am guessing the reason for this is because I am back to working full-time, then exercising after work, then coming home to make dinner, eat, clean the kitchen…etc., and when I sit down to do my art, I think my brain is simply fried. 🍳 It sure is hard to prioritize *everything* especially when all you want to do is the ART! 🤪 I need to reconfigure things on the daily, and do a reality check…QUICKLY! One thing I know for sure is that this weekend, I will prioritize art in order to get my groove back!
