one thing i love about mihashi is how bad he is at lying. like not that he always tells the truth. he's actually quite dishonest. but it's more his process is. realizing that telling the truth will get him in trouble -> picking some very small detail that he thinks won't get him in trouble -> bends his own cognitive rules around what "counts" as true.
like when he's adjusting his form, when he's told not to pitch on his own, and he decides that "shadow pitching" (pitching without a ball but practicing the form) doesn't count. and then abe asks him during the senda game "did you practice pitching on your own at home?" mihashi understands that if he tells abe that he practiced on his own, abe will get mad at him. so instead of actually saying anything about the shadow pitching, he just says "no," when it should be obvious that abe won't believe that. and abe doesn't! because mihashi has no real sense of what is plausible or believable as a lie! but he just clams up and lies by omission rather than making up something that could potentially be believed.

mihashi telling the waiter that abe asked for no pickles idk 😭❤️
Other than the haruna bathroom incident, has Abe takaya ever been in a physical fight
