This is HARDBOARD 🙌🏼 Hardboard is a material, also known as HDF (or high density fiberboard) that I use when I want to cover up the texture of a wall. So, why do I use hardboard? Obviously, to cover up texture—because it has a super smooth, uniform surface it is the perfect choice for painting. But why use hardboard over other materials? It’s BUDGET FRIENDLY 💸 At around $14 for a 4ft x 8ft panel, you can easily achieve those smooth walls without adding a lot of cost. It’s DURABLE 💪🏼 You may be familiar with MDF, or medium-density fiberboard, which is actually what I use for the battens and trim in this project.
