Home at Number Fifty Five on Instagram: "Wardrobe reveal! 🤍 We went down the Ikea Pax hack route which I'm sure you're all familiar with but we did it a little differently. We used plain white Ikea doors (Forsand doors) to box in the top and bottom of the wardrobes to create the built in look, this meant that all of the wardrobes and the boxed in areas had the exact same finish. We had big gaps next to some of the wardrobes and instead of having the space wasted by boxing it in we cut down a couple of Ikea Billy Bookcases to create more storage space. We put coving around the top of the wardrobes to complete the built in look and then to finish we added some brass knobs and handles to the doors. We secured them to the wall using rawl plugs & screws & there’s much more in depth info about this on my pax wardrobe highlights. We then added a frame around the edges for the MDF to be secured to. IKEA PAX: The Good, Bad and What I'd do differently

After using the IKEA PAX wardrobe for 1 year, I review what I love about it and what I would have done differently. Plus, a closet tour!

Carol & Ale on Instagram: "How much did we spend on our IKEA PAX HACK CLOSET project?! Here is a breakdown of all the costs. We did everything ourselves so no labor cost nor equipment was added:

- Base Structure (2x4s. You need to do this in order to lift the closet to fit the baseboard): $32
- @ikeausa Pax Wardrobe System (this is the most costly because you have to buy additional accessories to build your closet.. the amount of drawers, shelfs, and pull outs will determine how much it will cost): $1,720
- Closet Doors (I bought @ikea Forsand doors because it was much easier to work with them than build my own. This includes soft closing hinges and push to open system as well): $780
