Remembering the graphemes is just step one. I also need to see how they apply that knowledge within a decodable text. But it is so helpful when they know these graphemes because it starts with automaticity at the letter/grapheme level!   This is part of my vowel teams games. You can also just recreate it pretty easily and play without picture cards. Instead you can make a list of words that you read to the group (in random order).
