Kristen Bos | Doctor of Physical Therapy on Instagram: "Stubborn muscle tension on the inside tip of your shoulder blade?? ❌ 🔥 If this sounds like you, you could be experiencing an overuse of a muscle called your levator scapulae. This muscle often becomes overworked and strained when we tend to elevate the shoulder and roll it forward. To give this muscle a break we want to activate the muscle that does the opposite movement to offload the tension you are feeling. As a physical therapist, I often see this is due to a weakness in the lower trapezius. The lower trapezius helps to ground the shoulder blade down and back and is great for decreasing tension in the mid back and neck. Comment below if you have this pain point, and I will create another video with an exercise to help! 👏 Stiff Shoulder And Neck, Lower Trapezius Exercises, Pinched Nerve In Shoulder, Trapezius Muscle Pain, Shoulder Blade Stretch, Levator Scapulae, Discus Throw, Stiff Shoulder, Kt Tape
