Lamoille Canyon is in the Ruby Mountains, and is also known as Nevada's Yosemite. Lamoille Canyon was formed by two glaciers and can be seen on a 12 mile out and back scenic drive. The peaks tower above at over 11,000 feet of which Ruby Dome is the tallest, rising almost 5,500 feet from the bottom of the canyon.

Castle Lake is probably my favorite of the lakes in Nevada's Ruby Mountains that I've visited. The spur trail up to it isn't really much of a trail, and I was the only person up there when I visited.

Many people think Nevada is nothing but a desert wasteland, but it's actually the most mountainous state in the Continental United States. It's also one of my all-time favorite places to camp and hike.
