Enigma July 17, 1933-Nancy Cabot wrote, "This variation of the ever popular star pattern, called "Enigma" has, paradoxically, nothing enigmatical about it. It is easily identified for the design it is, and beloved of quiltmakers because it is so easy to make. It has the added virtue of adapting itself to almost any color scheme."
