I’ve been asked so many times if I have a video of how I do my eyes & it’s finally here!!

For Baby Della I like to go over one stitch for my eyes but if you want them bigger you can use this method just go up 2 stitches instead of 1.

✿ Yarn I use: “I Love This Cotton” from Hobby Lobby
✿ Bent or curved metal darning needle works best

Cotton yarn works best for me as I’ve noticed it’s more stable & not as bulky.

Don’t be afraid of messing up or experimenting what works best for you! The more you practice the better and more comfortable you’ll be.

Try out different yarn to see what works for you. Cotton or anti-pill worsted weight is fabulous to use.

If they end up not turning out how you wanted them to be, snip them off!! Wro Embroidered Eyes Amigurumi, Embroider Eyes, Della Duck, Eyes Amigurumi, Darning Needle, Crazy Crochet, Just Keep Going, Doll Parts, Animal Faces

Hi everyone! I wanted to share today one of my favorite alternatives to plastic safety eyes when making amigurumi. And bonus, they are fast and easy! These came to be when I was searching for an 'eye' to have a crisp, delicate look. I have made some with worsted black yarn but it just didn't meet the look I was going for when the eye needed to be on a smaller scale. There are many reasons we look for an alternative to plastic safety eyes. The most popular reason being the recipient of our…

Here is a tutorial about how to embroider eyes. This is how I made the eyes on the Elmo and Cookie Monster Hats, the Polar Bear Hat, and the Penguin Hat (coming soon!). Start with a long piece of yarn (at least a few feet, maybe longer) 1. Sew a five-sided star the size of the finished eye. 2-3. Weave the long tail of yarn over one star point and under the next. 4-5. Continue around until the eye looks like a circle and the star points are full. Tie the yarn in the back of the work and weave…
