When Hollywood was "Golden" - Happy 87th Birthday, Terry Moore Helen Luella Koford born in Glendale, California (January 7, 1929), is an American film and television actress. She has appeared in 77 films in a career that has lasted over seven decades. Moore made her film debut at the age of 11 in 20th Century-Fox's Maryland (1940). While under contract with Columbia Pictures, Moore was loaned out to RKO for one of her most famous films, Mighty Joe Young (1949). In 1953 she received an Academy Award nomination for her performance in Paramount's Come Back, Little Sheba (1952). Some of her other films included;The Great Rupert (1950), Two of a Kind (1951), Man on a Tightrope (1953), Daddy Long Legs (1955), Between Heaven and Hell (1956), Bernardine (1957), Peyton Place (1957), A Private's Affair (1959), and Why Must I Die? (1960). In the 1960s Moore's career started to decline, but she continued to make films including; Platinum High School (1960), She Should Have Stayed in Bed (1963), Black Spurs (1965), Town Tamer (1965), Waco (1966), and A Man Called Dagger (1967). As film roles became less and less, Moore appeared on television in a variety of shows including; Empire (1962-63), Burke's Law (1963), My Three Sons (1966), Batman (1967), Bonanza (1970) among others. In 2014 she appeared on the HBO crime series True Detective, starring Matthew McConaughey. Moore semi-retired from acting in the 1970s and by the 1980s, she resumed her career with minor roles in low-budgeted B-movies. Moore made headlines in the late 1970s when she claimed she and billionaire Howard Hughes had been secretly married from 1949 until his death in 1976. Although no proof existed to back up her claim, his estate paid her an undisclosed settlement in 1984. At the age 55, Moore posed nude in the August 1984 issue of Playboy magazine. In her personal life, aside from Howard Hughes, Moore has been married five times and has two sons; Stuart born 1960 and actor, Grant Cramer born 1961 from her marriage to Stuart Warren Cramer III (1959-1970). She was married to her last husband; Jerry Rivers from 1992 until his death in 2001. Moore has a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame at 7080 Hollywood Blvd
