Anonymous askedHello! First of all, no worries, I love sharing info with people if I have info to share. Second, you could always start with a gel instead, I’ve heard that it takes a little while longer to begin seeing effects and you have to do it every day, but when I brought this up to my doctor he seemed to think it wasn’t as big a deal as people make it out to be. Now for the actual needle business.
First of all, injection. Your nurse should be showing you how to do the shot before you do it for the first time so I’ll trust they get all the essentials in there. Something they didn’t bring up to me was that you’re supposed to rotate the site of every shot, about a fingers length apart from each other (I was aiming for the same freckle every time until I was poking into a bruise. It never Hurt but it did Bleed).
Second, you’ll want to relax your body for it. I like to employ “slow tigers to fast tigers” method, which is clenching your whole body for a minute, then relaxing, to let out some of that anxiety.
I’ve also never used one of These, but I’ve heard good things about them. I guess it works like you’re too busy feeling the blocker to feel the needle
Also if for whatever reason the pharmacy you pick your needles up from only gives you one set (like walgreens did for me) you can purchase boxes of the stuff online.
Finally this isn’t an injection tip but a storage tip. I got a bait and tackle box from bass pro shop and it has the perfect amount of space for everything I need. You can also pack a little treat in there if you like.
