Thanks for agreeing to meet me.
Of course.
Sorry I'm late.
I'm doing it for Chimney...And for you.
Always showing up ❤️
Seriously, what is wrong with people? These are some comments from a TikTok about David Meyer, a Chicago FD Captain who died in the line of duty this past week when a garage roof collapsed:
I'm sad about Bobby too, but can we the fuck not? David is a real life person, a father of four, whose family and colleagues now have to say goodbye.
Anyway, if you're able, all donations to the Chicago Fire Department Foundation are going directly to his family for the next month: https://cfdfoundation.com/2025/04/captain-david-meyer-lodd/
Seems like a revisionist narrative about the lockdowns are emerging where a simplistic “stayed home and did stupid hobbies” versus “worked shit jobs during a pandemic before vaccines” binary is presented and I want to challenge that binary by reminding you that tens of millions of workers lost their jobs at that time which ignited a multi-year problem with rental debts, evictions, poverty and homelessness.
It feels like people are conflating “stayed at home” with “worked at home because they had a middle class office job” and I want to remind you tens of millions of working people lost their jobs at that time which resulted in a consequential rise in homelessness, etc. And jumping off what I saw a friend say, for those workers staying home it wasn’t “fun” it was isolating and terrifying.
Currently upset with myself for missing the opportunity in my last fic to have Eddie make Tommy even more insane with this exchange:
"Buck's a top? That feels out of character."
"One: why do you know more about the gay experience than my boyfriend? And two, in this incredibly straight fantasy scenario you had about my boyfriend, you spent enough time thinking about it to reach the conclusion that your best friend exclusively catches? What is happening."
this is too good to leave in the tags @a-mel0n
Sal Deluca makes over $1k collecting bets he made about who Muscles was with half the firehouses in the county. (Sal Deluca has not spoken to Tommy in eight years)
Entirely independent of this, Chief Simpson buys himself a new Rolex.
@rcmclachlan you inspired all of this and I forgot to tag you in it. Look at what you've done to us
then vs now 💔

the biggest issue Bruce has with his kids working with the JL is probably that he trained them too well and now he’s scared of them and doesn’t want to embarrass himself in front of the league.
Jason once walked up behind him so silently during a meeting that when he turned and saw a flash of the red helmet an inch from the back of his head he screamed like a teenage girl in a horror movie. Jason, nonplussed because all of the Robins scare the shit out of B like at least once a week, patiently waits for him to get his breath back before asking if they could grab thai on the way home. the rest of the JL stare in baffled awe and Bruce never lives it down.
Tim similarly appeared next to him once when he was fixing one of the appliances on the watchtower and when he made himself known by complaining that Damian kept flicking apple slices at him Bruce jumped so hard that he smacked his head against the frame of whatever he was fixing and gave himself a concussion. Barry laughs so hard he chokes on his coffee and Tim is just confused.
The kids aren’t even doing it on purpose, they’ve just naturally become too silent even for Batman and when they freak him out they just sigh and move on bcs its gotten old
I raise you: the bat kids thinking Bruce is just acting scared. He does it for new Robins like lions do with their cubs when acting like their little attacks hurt them, so now the kids are just so used to it and say "you gotta stop this, it's really getting old. It's not that funny anymore"

This is fantastic and I love it so much<3
The thought of him being all theatrical with new and young Robins is so adorable!!! Omg imagine the first time that Dick actually sneaks up on him tho! Like he’d be so shook and shocked and proud
Every time Bruce jumps or gasps or curses when he notices them, they think it’s him being dramatic AF, but in reality they’re all so well trained now that they really do be triggering his flight or fight response and as soon as he recognises them he has to redirect that energy somewhere.
And he knows he’ll take the hit to his pride and show he’s spooked in front of his team instead of laying his kid out, but that doesn’t mean he wants the teasing that’ll come with it

Not that there's anything wrong with having something wrong with you
