I have a big question: In the United States is there awareness of the fact that democracy is no longer functioning? From a distance the situation seems quite clear but when you’re actually there, it might not be as immediately apparent.
I am pretty certain vast swathes of America are deeply aware of this.
I also get the feeling there is a lot of things happening within America that is not getting out to the rest of the world.
For example, I think there is far more resistance and action being taken than is being reported on. So the rest of the world is getting the impression that everyone is sitting on their hands whilst Musk and Trump perform an effective coup.
I certainly hope that isn’t the case. But media just plain doesn’t report on everything. As all media, regardless of political bias, has heavy negativity bias. They’ll report more on bad things happening than about positive actions being taken.
drew over something i wrote for a class and liked :] sorry the cars are lowkey ugly, its because I fucking hate cars and cant be bothered to learn what they look like beyond ominous hunks of metal
