I love Dwarf Fortress. I’ve been playing around in the advanced world generation menu to create interesting geology, but I still poke around in Legends Mode even if I don’t end up using the world for some reason.
Gicaimici, “Canyonbit”, is an elven forest retreat located in a region called the Forest of Clobbering—a temperate conifer forest near the ice caps up north on a continent known as The Continent of Covers. It’s not a large settlement, but because I cranked up the beast setting, it’s constantly getting harassed by trolls, cyclopes, and this one persistent giantess.
Their main imports are dingo bone crafts from a nearby human civ. This one human merchant guild just keep showing up and selling specifically dingo bone crafts for the elves.
The site has a lot of human immigrants too who mostly concern themselves with hunting monsters and having religious disputes.
The giantess has conducted a total of nine rampages. Each time, she steals some cheap wooden trinket or a piece of fruit. (A peach, an apple, and—her latest treasure—some almonds.)
Then there’s the troll, Mefa Broadedwondered, another “regular.” He prefers snacking on the elves’ many pets. He ultimately dies doing what he loves, finally struck down by an elf during one of his many attacks at a different elven site.
Meanwhile, Anóva Goalstood the Confident—who is associated with strength and food—is still kicking, hitting up nearby settlements for her “shopping” trips from her cave home: The Gutter of Turmoil.
Because it is not a large settlement , not a lot of books get written here, my favorite is this callout post in the form of a fancy expensive codex.
