Just rewatched Master Blackmailer and auughhhh the look on Holmes's face when he opens his door to Milverton is the same with which he looked at Moriarty, that mixture of tension, disgust, and an overt fear aaaaahhhh Jeremy Brett when I get youuuuu
Also the moment he looks at the picture of the Reichenbach falls before he decides to burgle Milverton ... but then! Then! He tells Watson everything and takes him along! I have feeeeeeelings
And it was universally protested against when we got upgraded to readable reblog chains lol
Quick what are you doing RIGHT now (besides scrolling Tumblr)
BTW, possibly time for a reminder...
I get inquiries about where I stand on things, sometimes... when people may have been in a rush and haven't done a search to see what I might have said previously. (Gods know, in harried or anxious times, it happens...)
Here's a reminder of my previous take on something that's much on many minds, right now.
From an anonymous asker:
As a kid I loved your YW books, and, having rediscovered them as an adult, I still love them. One thing I've been wondering is if the oath would allow transgender wizards. Personally, I think it would, because it's changing an organism (yourself) in a way that (hopefully) does more good than harm. I just wanted to know if that sort of thing is canon, because having gay and ace wizards made me so happy, especially Nita getting a bit flustered about her assumptions.
The tl:dr; response:
Well, since today is the 2018 International Day of Transgender Visibility, it’s certainly a good day to get explicit about this. :)
I touched briefly on the subject in a post some years back, but briefly the answer to “would the Oath allow transgender wizards” is: yes, of course!
The full post (with links back to older ones) is here.
And the addendum, now as then:
Nothing much more for me to add except to say, to everybody who reads my stuff and for whom transition (or the prospect of it) is an ongoing issue: …I see you.

sunglasses. no sun. it’s cloudy: overcast.
I'm sorry but it's way too sketchy to have to "sign up" for a protest. There's no reason you should have to give anyone your full name, email, phone number, and/or address in order to march in the streets. People are getting arrested left and right because cops have access to information that connects people to the protests they were at. If an organization is having people "sign up to join the fight," all the cops need to do is access that list.
Just go. Don't leave a fucking paper trail.
my dad just exploded into laughter out of nowhere and told me ‘imagine the lion king but with sea lions’
