I have an account with Plausible analytics https://plausible.io/. I've been using it for a while and it is okay.

It is open-source, super tiny/simple analytics focused on privacy (it doesn’t use cookies and is fully compliant with GDPR, CCPA and PECR etc..). There is also a nice feature where you can generate a public url for the dashboard (to share publicly).

Should i add it? or is it not needed? It will be curious to see how people find RustPython and I can share the url in the readme/with the team.

I'm guessing this is similar to Githubs traffic insights?

github insights for repository itself, plausible for website. I think this is a good idea.

cool. I will add a snippet from https://plausible.io/ - since it is GDPR compliant and very privacy oriented, we won't need to add any other banners.

Plausible's public dashboard looks like this https://plausible.io/plausible.io
Do we want to hyperlink the dashboard on the website? add it in the README here? or just share it on Gitter?

I would go with "hyperlink to the website" because why not ... open code / open data go well together. There might be some privacy implications or something that I am not thinking of, so tell me what you think.

Linking it on the website sounds good to me!
