I haven't been able to reproduce the brownout bug (#280) by running down a battery. But this code should fix the problem. I was able to randomly break the filesystem by varying the voltage on a bench supply. I tried the same thing with this patch, and didn't get an error. But that's not a sure indication of a fix. Nevertheless, this code add more safety to safe mode.
