We publish security-scanned AMI images on every Coder release which significantly reduces steps for the quickstart experience for AWS.
Since quickstarts are not designed to share best practices, I don't think it's necessary to unfold and show all of the manual steps as well. We should probably add an additional document with best practices and requirements for running a VM deployment of Coder, not specific to AWS. A doc like that would be much more beneficial for seasoned AWS users or folks looking to set up a production deployment of Coder
