Hi there, first time contributor here..
This should fix the commit chaining bug. I didn't see a CONTRIBUTING.md so wasn't sure about the guidance for tests. I looked at the tests around chaining and don't see an obvious way to assert that the underlying calls were made without something like sinon in place.
