If github_changelog_generator uses config.user as the base of the project:

i.e.
skywinder/github_changelog_generator

How would I be able to set my username as cdenneen?

if you provide a different username but a "/" to the project will that work?

config.user = cdenneen
config.project = skywinder/github_changelog_generator
