• 👋 Hi, I’m @julian-rose, originally from the U.K.
• 👀 I was formerly a software engineer (though I prefer Programmer - I think the term software engineering is over-used) with 'expertise' in C and low-level programming. Now I'm a hobbyist.
• I'm interested in real-time systems, formal methods, and retro computing in so far as Z80 and Exidy Sorcerer including CP/M. That now includes Agon Light and the eZ80.
• 🌱 I’m currently learning basic electronics, with Arduino and now Agon.
• 💞️ My first use of GitHub was in 2020: I updated Community Z Tools (CZT) in Sourceforge; my changes were added to the new CZT project in GitHub by UQ student(s).
• My first Open Source (I prefer 'Free') project was dsp_K, a kernel for the Analog Devices SHARC DSP, back in 99-2000 in Sourceforge. That was published in Linux Journal, and fed into uCLinux (the Blackfin port); other than that, dsp_K didn't get any community traction - mostly because it needed proprietary tools and hardware, and Open Source was still a new idea in embedded systems back then.
• I haven't engaged much with Open Source since; I developed Free academic publications, my other interests, on Z and my CSDG process algebra.
