We have all possible combinations of
EG
,Eg
,eg
,E.G.
,e.g.
,Eg.
, etc sprinkled throughout docstrings.maybe I'm just being weird, but I think we should normalize them (have all spelled with two periods) and/or reduce their usage where it becomes a visual nuisance.
I can imagine how it might be confusing - even though this is a latin abbreviation - for a non-native english speaker to try to parse out what the word "eg" might mean, and wonder if it's just a typo of 'egg', or something.
