Um what do you mean by main menu in this context given that it's in the main index? Granted, still think we should do #17920 but if we must have an FAQ and it must be navigable to, then I vote for for now making it part of the user guide and having it findable from that TOC - especially if #26628 can go in. |
so #26628 should do that - it moves half the FAQ to install and the rest to the user guide & is linked to from there. Technically install is not available through that top menu either but one problem at a time. And yes it's a little buried in the user guide landing page but that's also a whole different PR/overhaul. |
Getting Started, Install, and FAQ were all moved to the top level index in #26332. None of them is currently accessible from any links in the upper bar (except the Matplotlib logo) |
I think getting started should be folded back into quickstart (which is linked in userquide) & I think I'm gonna also link the install related faqs in the development install/workflow. |

Problem
AFAICS the only link to this page (and child pages) is in the boxes on the index page https://matplotlib.org/devdocs/.
This is hard to find.
IMHO all pages should be accessible via a chain of links starting from the main menu, because the main menu is the entry point to navigating the site.
