PR Summary

From issue #10880, in contributing.rst the suggested labels to use for new contributors are new-contributor-friendly and Difficulty: Easy. These labels have not been actively used for issues geared towards new contributors. They have both been replaced with the good first issue label in contributing.rst.

PR Checklist

  • Has Pytest style unit tests
  • Code is PEP 8 compliant
  • New features are documented, with examples if plot related
  • Documentation is sphinx and numpydoc compliant
  • Added an entry to doc/users/next_whats_new/ if major new feature (follow instructions in README.rst there)
  • Documented in doc/api/api_changes.rst if API changed in a backward-incompatible way

The suggested labels for new contributors to use in contributing.rst are not used and have been replaced with the actively used first issue label.
