Closes #177 sigstore-python has a patch for the issue on their side, too: sigstore/sigstore-python#1179

The next planned releases are some time away:

  • 2024-11-19: 3.14.0a2
  • 2024-12-03: 3.12.8
  • 2024-12-??: 3.13.1

sigstore/sigstore-python#1179 might be released by then.

Do you think this PR is worth merging anyway?

Looks like there will be a release before any of those dates: sigstore/sigstore-python#1184
