This has already been fixed in 2.3 a few days ago in #15051
for now, the fix has been propagated to the 2.6 and 2.7 branch, but the 2.7 branch has not yet been merged into 2.8, which is why the bugfix is not there yet.
so I'm closing this PR as duplicate.
