So I posted my concept for Ladybird a long time ago, and with all the Miraculous art I’ve been doing lately I felt in the mood to update her art and pretty her up a bit. She’s so fun to draw.

For those of you new to Ladybird, she’s basically Emily Agreste with the Ladybug miraculous in a sort of soft-reboot/Adaptation of the original story that I was experimenting with. The general idea is that before Emily died Tikki left on her own to find someone to wield her miraculous for the greater good, and stumbled across Emily. The two of them transformed into Ladybird, and together they would act as vigilantes by night, going about the streets and stopping crime. Eventually Emily became pregnant with a child, then lost the child shortly after giving birth—then, with the combined powers of the Peacock and Ladybug Miraculous created her son Adrien. I know, it’s a lot of convoluted lore, but the idea is that miraculous in this world have fusion powers, and the power of the Peacock and Ladybug is that together they can create a fully autonomous living being. Hence the three different designs.

It’s okay Marinette. Just breathe. I don’t know about you guys, but I think this hero has a lot to learn from her young teammates about cutting loose and having fun. Still, it’s hard to say how the Minnie Miraculous holders would fair without their capable leader/big sister looking out for them. It’s a good thing she has Wayze to calm her down whenever she gets too stressed.

So, uh, yeah. Here she is—Turtle Marinette! Aka, Miss Terra. To be honest, I had trouble not just copying the Trutle Marinette that @zoe-oneesama made a while back, but I managed to make something different that I still like. She was also the hardest to color, because her pallet requires more mixing than the others did.

Here she is! (Finally. Sorry she took so long to put out.) Ella as the Bee! She’s a real little bugger… hehe. Sorry.

But yeah, I had fun with this one—it was a little tricky because for some reason side Profile is hard for me to draw, but I did it, and I think it looks pretty good. :) Um… let’s see, I imagine that Buzzy would be a bit of a lose cannon, and she’d sting people just because it’s fun. And Pollen and probably spoils her. Just saying.

Meet Black Cat Gabriel Agreste, otherwise known as Mattagot. I imagine the dynamic between him and Lady Luck would be somewhat similar to that of Bat Man and Superman—with Sabine being the moral leader with a heart too big to make some hard decisions, while Mattagot is the practical decision maker that will views the world through a darker lens.
Fu selects Gabriel when Gabriel gives up his seat to Fu on a train without hesitating, and without theatrics. Fu initiates a short conversation with Gabriel in which he learns of Gabriel’s lasting love for his deceased wife.
This was the design that made the most sense for him thematically, and was based off of his appearance in Ephemeral with the Cat Miraculous. I know it’s not exactly anything new, but I wanted him to look like a darker hero, more morally ambiguous than Lady Luck. After all, it is his desires for the return of his wife that are influencing the actions of this story’s main antagonist.

Okay, so my adults-as-heroes AU has a name now—tales of Lady Luck and Mattagot, or the Lady Luck AU, for short. Here’s our Heroine—Sabine Dupain Cheng, also known as Lady Luck! (Btw, this is for the same AU that Violeon and Foulette come from.) Mysterious Villain attacks are befalling Paris, and it’s up to Lady Luck to save everyone. With some help, of course, but I haven’t drawn Mattagot yet, so his blurb comes later. Fu chooses Sabine as the Ladybug holder after he sees her saying goodbye to Marinette as she leaves for her first day of school. He has a feeling about Sabine, so he goes in to buy some bread, then purposefully falls on his way out the door. Of course, Sabine goes above and beyond helping him, even going so far as to offer him assistance getting home. So yeah. I like her. I imagine she’d be an amazing superhero, and I always wanted to draw her as one, so this is my excuse. Not that I need one, but if you’re gonna do it, why not AU it, right? Aaaaaaanyways. Here’s a rough sketch of her from the back:

I didn’t color it in though, because art supplies are expensive…. And it would have taken ages.

So I know it’s an old AU, and Cochineal is the big thing on @nionom-art right now, but I loved the concept and the art a lot. I’ve actually never watched Tokyo Mew Mew before, but I love magical girls, and I had this particular scene in my head for a long time, so I finally decided to post it. I hope it looks alright—I was using a lot of techniques I’ve never tried before—but yeah. Just to clarify, this is fan art for @nionom-art and their Miraculous Mew Mew Au. :)

So yeah.

Wow, I actually got this done today.

So here’s Etta as the Fox holder. I imagine her causing all sorts of trouble with her illusion powers, maybe trying to use them to get out of trouble by blaming it all on the Sapotis. Her and Trixx would probably honestly get along a little too well.

As a side note, I keep coming up with a bunch of cool sounding names for these guys—then I remember that they’re kids and that they have no class. I know way too many second graders at this point to think otherwise. So her name is an adjective and the literal animal that she is. Sigh. Because it probably would be.

This one took me a bit longer to draw because I wasn’t sure how to capture her personality as well as the others so far. She’s pretty much indistinguishable from her twin, so I also wanted to keep that as a thing while giving her subtle differences. Also, while I was drawing her I forgot about the white tummy section and had already water colored her in, and so that’s why her tummy looks more grey than white. I was considering pretending that was intentional, but I’m just happy I managed to get that much opacity with White watercolor, because watercolors don’t really get lighter easier once they’ve been applied.
