Koforidua Technical University be one of de ten Technical Universities wey dem establish for every region for Ghana insyd.[1] Dem found am for 1997. Since 1999, dem dey produce graduates plus HNDs for accountancy, secretaryship den management studies, marketing, purchasing den supply, statistics den computer science, wey right now, dem dey offer degree programmes.

For 1997 insyd, de University start plus one "solo block" structure den small number of students. But recently, dem expand well in terms of student population, programs, faculties, den infrastructure development. Right now, de University get five (5) faculties den one institute, plus approximately eight thousand (8,000) students.[2] De institution get five faculties den one institute: Faculty of Business den Management Studies, Faculty of Applied Sciences den Technology, Faculty of Engineering, Faculty of Built den Natural Environment, Faculty of Health den Allied Sciences den de Institute of Open and Distance Learning. Since dem start, de number of HND programs increase from 2 go 14. School of Business and Management Studies dey offer six (6) of de programs, six (6) from de Faculty of Engineering den four (4) from de School of Applied Science den Technology.[3]

So say ego fulfil ein 2010-2014 strategic plans, now edey offer Bachelor of Technology programs give only 2 courses-procurement den Automotive Engineering. Dem still dey want add oda courses. Koforidua Technical University get de support of number of institutions wey dey include Ministry of Education den ein agencies, National Council for Tertiary Education, National Accreditation Board, National Board for Professional and Technician Examinations, Ghana Education Trust Fund] den de Council for Technical den Vocational Education den Training.

As of 2018/19 academic year, Koforidua Technical University now dey offer below undergraduate courses.[4]
