100% of Pregnant women will have Diastasis Recti
100% of women will have Diastasis Recti by the third trimester. Your abdominals will sometimes go back together by themselves but not always. This is normal, natural and no cause for concern and it will sometimes heal by itself within 3-6 months after birth. If your DR does persist for more than 3-6 months, it’s not the end of the world, it’s just a sign you need to do some core rehab to work to close that gap. This does not mean doing some intense abdominal workouts, or 100s of sit-ups and press-ups - in fact this can often make the gap worse.
