pfffffff I get that lol 😭. sometimes I forget that my tone doesn’t always come across over text (I try to use tone tags and parenthesis when appropriate. but also I forgor </3). it’s an issue irl too- i think im muchhhhhh more expressive than I actually am. both in the tone of my voice and my face. whenever i speak online please know that i am always trying to speak with kindness and love <3

It depends on which multiverse we’re talking!! Generally, true names only really have weight within Dreamtale (and those from Dreamtale)- it would be a Dreamtale concept. However, if you are renamed by someone from Dreamtale, that then gives it the weight and power. For the Far from the Sun AU (the one with Solstice and Prism), Prism’s true name has weight because Dream renamed him. In Not that AU, Ink’s true name would just be a name- what was supposed to be his name. It would still be uncomfortable to hear, because it reminds him of his past even if he doesn’t remember it.

Nightmare takes any chance he gets to gain power and control. If he believed he knew Ink’s true name, he would 100% taunt him with it and use it to try and manipulate him. I don’t think he’d do it too often though because to him using someone’s true name is still like… almost weirdly intimate. He’d use it to be a jerk, pretty much.
