thinking about how stupid all of tumblrs handling of porn and mature content has been incredibly bad decisions even from a content moderation perspective. like content labels would have been a really good idea if you want to be able to host different types of mature content while not shutting out minors from the userbase. but for that to be functional would require that people actually trust that labeling content correctly would actually be rewarded and not second guessing every time whether it will get you shadowbanned or if it would get removed or if youd get termed entirely.

Actually, beekeepers take many precautions to keep their bees from leaving.
many clip the wings of the queen, destroy new queen cells, cull queens they don't like and use bee pheromones to prevent a hive from naturally swarming or absconding. They also try and prevent mating with the African honey bee, which makes them less docile among other things. During artificial insemination of queens, drones are crushed and „spare“ queens are killed.
and commercial beekeepers even cull their hives during winter, or when they are not producing well.
Coupled with the fact that there is evidence that insects do feel pain, this is not great.
(Not to mention that honeybees are an invasive species in most places, competing with native pollinators and spreading disease)

i think it’s ultimately very funny that people are using a newly-made binary for lowkey transvestigating people. like, there’s some people (like me) who will remain just androgynous enough to obscure their ASAB. and if it is confusing to trans people, i can assure you it is obscure to cis people too. when people decide to call me a slur or give me the side eye or hurt me in any way, they won’t exactly make sure to confirm whether i’m TME or TMA before doing so. you can then decide to call said abuse transphobia, transmisogyny, or whatever else you’d like. it doesn’t change how i got abused.
transmisogyny is a very useful word, but it’s not one that you can try to apply as a binary. trans women are the target of a specific type of hatred and oppression that deserves it’s own name, and are the main receivers of it. but more people get hurt by it. black and brown cis women are often targeted and transvestigated as trans women, and face the same backlash than trans women, and will suffer the same way. but they’re not trans. imane khelif was not trans. kalaya morton was not trans. but we can keep going on a loop on how much they’re TMEs despite having been hurt over being perceived as trans.
i don’t think a lot of the white TMA defenders are really ready to acknowledge that, though. the racism that women of color have faced has, for ages, had to do with their perception of being hyper-masculine compared to white women. and there’s an overlap between misogynoir and transmisogyny, but again, intersectionality is a bit above the understanding of people who just wanna box everything into TMA/TME.
It’d hardly be radical feminism if it wasn’t racist, of course.
