a really great organization that i don’t see any posts about here is HEAL palestine. it was founded by steve sosebee, who was a founding president of the PCRF before leaving in late 2023 to refocus his efforts on heal palestine to better meet the needs of palestinians impacted by the genocide. the organization provides palestinians in gaza with food, clean water, shelters, “makeshift classrooms,” and even medical evacuation for some children when it’s possible–their services are pretty wide.

you can donate here if you would like to send a tax-deductible donation to an organization. also, i don’t think any evacuations are possible right now, but if you’re in the united states and you’d like to welcome medically evacuated children in the future, i highly recommend signing up for their newsletter or following them on social media so you can stay updated in case any children evacuated by HEAL come to your area for treatment. welcoming these kids at the airport is a really moving way to provide them with moral support, entirely for free.

this is a comic my dear friend @wolf-aid had made using batman both because he’s a very dear character to me and because we are hoping that a popular character will bring more attention to the comic itself.

the comic says most of what i can say already — but i’ll say it again. ibrahim is an incredibly sweet young man who i’ve been close friends with for a few months now. he and his family need help to be warm, to eat, to get medicine, and to survive — hopefully soon they can escape their awful circumstances.

please have a heart: donate what you can, reblog this post, and pay attention to ibrahim’s campaign.

thank you for the beautiful comic💖 lets all help ibrahim🙏

I encourage anyone who wonders things like “Why does the DPRK hate the United States so much?” or “Why would the United States lie about North Korea?” to, well, first of all, cultivate a sense of empowered investigative curiosity about the world around them, but secondly, to just go to the wikipedia page for The Korean War and check under the “civilian casualties” section.

actually here I’ll just drop a screenshot

Total civilian deaths: 2–3 million (est.)[33][34] South Koreans: 990,968 total casualties[21] North Koreans: 1,550,000 total casualties (est.)[21]ALT

I want you try to envision that number. The population of the DPRK in 1954 is cited by various Western sources as being between 7.7 million - 10.2 million, however more contemporary sources seem to lean towards the larger number (7.7 million was estimated by the CIA in 1954)

If we say 10 million people, with 1.5 million casualties. That’s 15% of the post-war population. 15%. That’s a little more frequent than 1 in 7. Imagine one out of every 7 people you know being killed. This study estimates that the median individual has a social network of about 470 people. Rounding down, 15% of that is 70 people. Imagine 70 people out of everyone you know personally being killed. 15% is massive. It’s a genuinely sickening and horrific figure.

In comparison, in WWII, according to Wikipedia the UK had a casualty rate of .94% of their 1939 population, and the USSR had a casualty rate closer with 13.7% of their 1940 population.

The United States is a hulking behemoth of death and cruelty and genocide. It is a machine dedicated to one thing, which is the extraction of power and profit at the cost of any amount of human life. Like all bourgeois imperialist powers, it is a mechanism for the transmutation of innocent human life directly into political-economic power.

Moreover, The United States of America must be destroyed.

No matter how much you hate the US it can never be enough

this is also why you keep seeing those meme pictures of South Korean grandmas going “there are no good U.S. presidents.” A lot of younger chuds might salivate at the thought of being a USA colony and a lot of rightoid establishment might sell out the South Korean public to line their pockets but do not get it twisted; there is a sizeable intergenerational movement to get these fuckers out of the country, regardless of how pie-in-the-sky that goal is.

Northern Gaza has been starving for 2 months now

Please donate to the Sameer Project and Dahnoun Mutual Aid. Many NGOs and nonprofits have ceased operations in the north due to danger and lack of supplies — these are two Gazawi-led grassroots initiatives that buy food, water, clothes, and baby supplies in bulk to serve the most vulnerable people in their communities in the North at no cost.

A screenshot of the heading of an article on Medium.com, written by user "The Grief Witch". The title of the article is "What is the Ethical Way to Climb Out of Hell?". The article is accompanied by a worms-eye-view photo of several people waving Palestinian flags.ALT

I just wanted to share this article about Palestine’s right to revolt and why it is important that we support it. It also has sources embedded in the text that debunk misinformation about them and Hamas. I implore everyone to read it and spread this information around.

Always remember that Palestine was explicitly granted the right to armed resistance by the United Nations, against the zionist occupation. The article mentions the U.N. enshrining that right for occupied and colonized people, but the U.N. also explicitly named Palestine in the resolution, as well as Namibia and Zimbabwe who were also fighting against apartheid and illegal occupation.

Given recent events (and less recent frankly), it may behoove everyone to read up on the history of the Blue Line.

i feel like i am going insane seeing people celebrate the eradication of syria’s air defenses and the zionists siezing territory that leaves south lebanon exposed encircled and powerless. not just celebrate it but viciously go after anyone who refuses to. there’s no hope for the western left and we live in hell

and you can’t do an “authentic voices versus cruel western leftists” thing about this, sorry. the most devastated and scared people I know are Syrian, Palestinian, and Lebanese. the people I know who angrily dismiss them and want to celebrate the fall of the regime as a popular Syrian victory are also Syrian and levantine. same goes for the people trying to find some kind of balance between joy that Assad is gone/recognition that he was the axis of resistance’s weakest link and a realistic understanding of what made that happen and what comes now. you can’t gesture to an anonymized majority of Syrians to justify beliefs that put you on the same side as the Pentagon, you have to own what you’re saying.

This campaign has sustained nour and her family since it began, and she still needs all the help she can get. She and her young children are constantly sick from the conditions they live in, and always struggling to find and afford food. On top of that, tumblr has targeted her, every account she makes has her capability to send messages turned off, so she can’t communicate with many of the people who were trying to help her.

No donation is too small. Please share if you can’t donate.

Don’t let the notes fool you, donations have been slow. Forgot to add this too, Nour is #50 on the @gazavetters spreadsheet.

the high number of notes doesn’t mean that nour doesn’t need help! please help her and her children continue to survive.

(07/12/2024) Resistance News Network:

The armed terrorists of the Syrian opposition “Hayat Tahrir Al-Sham” continue their media campaign to present their formerly ISIS- and Al-Qaeda-affiliated selves as reformed and “open to change,” which the western media parrots without question. HTS leader Abu Mohammed Al-Julani is now presented as giving up his head-slicing ways under a black flag in favor of a tailored olive military outfit, palatable to the west. Remarkably, Al-Julani, despite being among the world’s most abominable terrorists, was freely given an interview in CNN today, where his “changed” views were platformed, glossing over his history as an ISIS leader in Iraq and Syria.

Al-Julani, in a message to Iraq a few days ago, manipulated language to serve the Western agenda, speaking about “Iran’s wars against the region,” referring to the Gaza genocide and “israel’s” war on Lebanon, without naming the executor at all. This is a calculated rhetoric that aligns fully with the agenda of his Western and zionist backers which seek to fracture the resistance in the region.

In an interview with zionist media today, an FSA officer openly admitted that their only enemies are the Syrian state, Hezbollah, and Iran - not the settler-colonial and expansionist tumor in the region called “israel.” Far from even pretending to condemn the occupation, he expressed willingness to be friendly with the genocidal entity, mirroring what was told to zionist analyst Mordechai Kadar, that opposition groups want increased support and weapons from “israel.” He added that they are “thankful to ‘israel’ for strikes against Hezbollah.” This is no surprise, as opposition groups have repeatedly been documented expressing thanks to Netanyahu and celebrating assassinations of resistance figures, even through Al-Aqsa Flood. As quoted, the opposition’s sole goal is overthrowing the Syrian state; they seek to normalize with “israel” and even requested “'israeli’ and American aid for reconstruction,” which would only make Syria more dependent (Note: the Syrian state owes $0 to the World Bank today).

The Syrian opposition has deceived the West, as well as some Arabs, that they are virtuous humanitarians fighting for the Syrian people. In reality, they are pawns in the destabilization the region, aiming to break the link of resistance, and serve “israel” with their actions. By Al-Julani’s own admission, over 30% of their ranks consist of foreign mercenaries, far from the “grassroots” movement they aim to represent, while their operations are shaped and funded by Turkey and the West.

Despite the sanitized picture they try to sell the western media today, horrific stories of executions, robberies, siege have emerged from towns that have been taken over in the last week. Despite the attempt at covering up these stories, their true colors shine through by their actions, as well the occasional ISIS patches they forget to hide on their uniforms.

While the resistance in Gaza, Lebanon, Iraq, and Yemen defends the region from Western hegemony and tyranny, the Syrian opposition has not lifted a finger. Their Western-trained drones, operated by Ukrainian instructors, have never targeted the zionist entity—they have only targeted Syrians. For months, they have schemed to destabilize the region and undermine the gains of the resistance. With the blessing of their masters and Western cover and support, they are working to sow chaos, diminish the resistance’s momentum, and serve their foreign interests.
