Today on CNBC, Oliver Matthew Head of Asia Consumer Research at #CLSA shared his outlook on Fast Retailing and its overseas expansion. Fast Retailings' “Stock has done incredibly well, its valuation has moved up, which reflects a lot of the success they have had in Europe, the US, and Japan, and actually in China which has been relatively resilient”, Oliver said. Uniqlo currently holds 1% of the market share in China, but it’s possible for this to double and grow to 2-3% in the coming years. According to Oliver, Uniqlo is reassessing some of the smaller weaker store locations and looking to introduce more flagship stores in China. While these changes will take another couple of years to implement, Oliver believes investors need to be patient, and that in time Uniqlo will ultimately perform very well in China. 👨🍳👩🍳Baking with a Purpose: Cookie Giveaway Initiative On 17 October, CITIC CLSA collaborated with two local NGOs to organize a community outreach event, aiming to broaden our impact and support for diverse groups in need within the community. The event took place at the St. James’ Settlement Delightful Integrated Vocational Rehabilitation Services Centre, where a group of 12 volunteers, comprising CITIC CLSA staff and their children, gathered for a unique and meaningful initiative.   🍪The workshop commenced with a delightful aroma of freshly baked cookies wafting through the room. Under the guidance of St. James staff and their rehabilitation members, our volunteers discovered how to whip up different delightful cookie flavours, each crafted with love and purpose. The atmosphere buzzed with excitement as volunteers worked in small teams, bonding over the shared goal of giving back to the community. In just a few hours, team CITIC CLSA produced a total of 360 cookies, ready to be donated to Hanuman Charity, a local NGO committed to improving the lives of underprivileged individuals, particularly those experiencing homelessness. Each cookie represented both a treat, and a gesture of kindness that connects one community member to another.   Through initiatives like this, CITIC CLSA effectively mobilizes our employees to engage with the community in meaningful ways. On CNBC today, #CLSA Japan Strategist Nicholas Smith provided his views on the $47 billion enlarged bid from Alimentation Couche-Tard (ACT) for Seven & i Holdings, the parent company of 7-Eleven. According to Nick, the Japanese government is providing oversight on the restructuring plan in the context of a traffic light system that ranks how important a company is to national security. On CNBC-TV18 today, #CLSA Chief Equity Strategist, Alexander Redman shared his insights on the latest China rally and its impact on the Indian stock market. In Alex's view, the revival of animal spirts in Chinese equity markets is commendable, “but what really differentiates the current episode is going to be whether you get the fiscal follow through from the Chinese government.” Alex provided further insights in an evaluation of Indian markets which have recently seen profit taking.
