I'm gonna try a new recipe today that I've not ever tried. So, we don't know whether it's gonna be good or not but I put powdered sugar in there and I mixed a little cinnamon with it and then I'm gonna come over here to my water and I'm gonna put just a fraction in there y'all. If you put too much to be too watery, I'm gonna turn it on about that big. Y'all can see that. And just kinda put it in there like that and stir it around and make a paste. One of my uh guest at the Cottle House told me that her mother used to do this all the time with leftovers biscuit dough. So, I just got through bacon's biscuit. So, I'm gonna try it. See how it'll work. Alright, I'm gonna make, she told me to make a paste out of powdered sugar and and um some cinnamon. So, I'm gonna do that. Are a little thinner than a paste. You want it kinda watery but it doesn't take much in there. I can tell you that. We'll see how it taste. I love the recipe. When I made the turnip green soup recipe. Hey, y'all gave me some good ideas too. I wrote them down so I could have em but anyway, what she said you do is you bake your paste and then you take your biscuit dough which I've got some leftover biscuit dough and look right down here and you put a little bit extra flour in it. So, it'll be kinda a little bit on the stiff side like that. Let me turn my grease on. Or I'm just doing what she told me. I think I'll just take half of this dough. That's a little bit much that I had left over. Alright and now I'm gonna roll it out. She said to roll it out pretty thin. So, I'll do that like she told me. And y'all if you know how to make biscuit dough cuz we've been over that several times and you know also have this is how you make dumplings except you make dumplings with um plain flour and this is self-rising whitely. Uh not the all purpose. I mean that's rather when you make dumplings. This one right here is actually the uh self-rising because this is my leftover biscuit dough. Alright, that looks pretty thin y'all. Alright, said cut it in strips. So, I'll do that. Then, she said, cut it across ways. You know, this is an inventive mother when um you you have a mother that says, hey, we can do this y'all. Alright, so I'm gonna take one of these up and let's go, you go over here with me and let's drop it in our grease and see what it does. My grease may not be quite hot enough. Oh look, it's floating. Alright, let me put the rest of them in and we're gonna put this little stuff over. We're gonna see how good it is this morning. I've got it turned on high now. See these little dumplings? If we had boiled chicken broth, we could put um put these little dumplings in our chicken broth, couldn't we? These are kinda puffing up because they're self-rising flour. And I think that looks good over there. Makes a little hump looking thing. Let me put these in and y'all come look over here. So, you can be in my kitchen with me this cold all morning. Look at that. Aren't they looking pretty? I'm gonna turn it down just a little bit. I don't want it to cook too fast. Alright, let's flip them over a little bit. Almost look like a little fried doughnut, doesn't it? I like how it's puffing up. I think that's pretty. We've got us a new recipe. Thanks to one of my visitors. She said her mama always did this for the children when she had leftover dough and that they loved it. Whoo how pretty they are. I'm excited. I love to learn new recipes. Thank you Facebook friends for sending in uh things that you do at home that are new and and different and um uh hey, we're gonna love these I bet. Maybe get me out of plate. I'll fry the rest of them when y'all are not with me. We're gonna fry up some though so you'll see how it's gonna look. Got our little stuff. I hadn't tasted it yet. Have a let me taste it babe. Sure I got enough sugar in it. I do. It taste good. I bet it's gonna taste like a little fried doughnut. Alright, let's go back over here to our skillet and see how they're doing. She said to cook until they're kinda crispy. So, let me do that. We'll turn it back up a little bit. I don't wanna cook too slow. All my little Yankee friends today. I hear y'all have snow and uh god bless you cuz I know you're just cold and have to stick inside and shovel sidewalks and do all that kind of stuff. So, alright. I think these are ready. Let me take em up. And I'll put some more on in a minute. I wanna get these up first. I'm anxious to see how they're gonna taste. Okay, let's see how they're gonna taste. Alright, we got that. Alright, now I'm gonna take my bacon. Y'all go down like that so you can see what I'm fixing to do. I've got a mess. That's what I've got. You know, I'm a not a alright. So, I'm gonna spread them out a little bit so I can put my little cinnamon sugar on it. I'm gonna drizzle it all over the top. Ooh it kinda looks like a little streusel don't it? I bet some of you already knew how to do this and I'm just now learning. Thank you so much for all your help on Facebook and always telling me good suggestions. Y'all are a fine group of ladies and men out there. I've I've got some men cooks around here too and they're watching me and I appreciate it. And you people from other countries sending me foreign recipes and they sound delicious too. Are you ready to taste? I'm ready. Let me pick one out. That one looks like a good one. Mmm mmm. Y'all they are delicious. Thank you so much Facebook friends for telling me this recipe. Now, you all know how to make biscuits. Because we've been over that a bunch of times. So, now, just put a little bit more flour in that biscuit dough to get it a little bit stiffer so that your dumpling doesn't stick to your um table. Look how thin I made it. See, they puff up like that. Got a little hole in the middle. Oh, that's delicious. Y'all need to try this. What can we name it? We don't have a name. Let's call it um what can we call it? Y'all give me some suggestions and then I'll then I'll know. We'll call it something. I get I'm gonna have to put something on the video though. I guess I'll call it leftover biscuit dough dumplings or dough that wouldn't sound right. Leftover biscuit dough goodies. Our snacks. Bye y'all. Love you so much. Buh bye.
