Taylor Friendt, CAA on Instagram: "I like to explain AAs as similar to PAs. The P in Physician Assistant is replaced by an A for Anesthesiologist and we are specifically trained for anesthesia. PAs can go into any specialty (except anesthesia). CRNAs went to nursing school & worked as nurses in the ICU before going on to anesthesia school. They are certified by the nursing board and can work in all 50 states - either in the anesthesia care team model or independently in some instances. CAAs do not have a nursing background. We have same prerequisites for medical school, can only work in 20 states plus DC under the anesthesia care team model, and are certified by the Board of Medicine. At my hospital CRNAs and CAAs are used interchangeably for the exact same job responsibilities and y Anesthesiologist Aesthetic, Anesthesiologist Humor, Nursing Background, Anesthesiologist Assistant, Anesthesia School, Crna School, Getting Into Medical School, Pre Med Student, Nursing Board
