Apologies you'll never get

you know you’ll never get that apology

But that's ok, I'm strong....

This is exactly what I needed to see today. Sometimes people do shitty things and you'll never get an apology, whether it's bc they don't think they did anything wrong, bc they're a coward, or bc they're just a shitty person. I've gone 15 years without an apology from my mother for neglecting, abusing, and abandoning me...but why does the lack of apology from the woman I loved feel 10x worse? :/ can't wait a lifetime for what isn't going to come though.

We accept the apology we think we think we deserve. When it never comes, we have to move on.
