Prehistoric Cave Bear

The extinct cave bear (Ursus spelaeus) had a wider heads than today’s bears and powerful shoulders and forelimbs. Males weighed up to 1,500 pounds, considerably more than the largest modern grizzlies.

Smaller than the short-faced bear. The predator that feeds almost exclusively on plants was probably an object of worship of primitive people.
