Deana Coveney on Instagram: "Here is the process of creating a ceramic wall clock by hand, from raw clay to a glossy high-fired functional clock. I love the glossy finish and the rainbow colors on the numbers. 
The round shape is first thrown on the pottery wheel using white stoneware clay,  spreading and forming the clay in a similar way to creating a large platter. Then I add the sculpted numbers one by one. This stage requires a veeeeeery slow drying time so that the clay doesn’t crack as it dries and shrinks. After bisque firing the piece to harden it, I color the numbers and apply glaze. One more firing to 2200 degrees F and it’s finished. Almost…!
