Forgiveness is not reconciliation

Forgiveness is for past reconciliation, not future consideration.

There are skewed messages about what forgiveness means. We are often taught that forgiveness means reconciliation, which is not true. You have a choice regarding who you allow in your life. You can forgive someone and choose to terminate the relationship or even adjust the level of closeness you have with the person. #mindfulwithminaa

THERE ARE DIFFERENCES BETWEEN FORGIVENESS, RECONCILIATION, and TRUST. Reconciliation is possible with geniune repentance, but you must discern if it's wise to reconcile and allow the offender back into your life. Trust must be earned over time and proven by changes in patterns of behavior. If the patterns of behavior don't change, they have not truly repented. And if there's no repentance, you can still forgive...without excusing or enabling the offender to do more damage. You can walk

Most people think forgiveness means reconciliation. It does NOT mean reconciliation. "Forgiveness should never be denied to anyone. Nevertheless, Be careful who you reconcile with." "Forgiveness Doesn’t excuse their behavior. Forgiveness prevents their behavior from destroying your heart." Matthew 6:14 For if you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you; 15 whereas if you do not forgive men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.💙

Forgiveness that is genuine and heartfelt may be difficult to achieve, but it is a necessary step towards resolution and moving forward.
