I know it took a little longer than what I said, but I eventually got round to doing a short video so you can see how I made that gorgeous green on last months wedding cake.

🔸 I used Saracino Dark green powder and Emerald green lustre powder (which has a touch of gold in)

🔸 Mixed with a little rejuvenator spirit

🔸 You’ll see that it is a bit thick which means it’ll only need a couple coats.

🔸 Paint it in and buff like crazy, going round in circles as this prevents streaks

🔸 Give it another paint and buff again.

👉 This cake only needed 2 coats, you may need more

1. Color your buttercream with gel or oil based food coloring.
I’ve used @americolor leaf green and a tiny bit of chocolate brown (start with a small amount of brown, you can always add more later. Dip the tip of a toothpick into the brown gel color and then into your buttercream. Chocolate Brown will mute the brightness of the green, giving it a more natural, earthy tone.)

2. Melt the buttercream in a microwave at 5 second intervals mixing well between each burst. (Don’t skip this step)

3. Once melted, add more color if required and pop your buttercream into a blender/chopper/food processor. You’ll see the color intensify.

4. Let the buttercream stabilise at room Blender Chopper, Green Buttercream, Oil Based Food Coloring, Buttercream Chocolate, Recipe Developer, Butter Icing, Cake Artist, Green Food Coloring, Leaf Green
